There has been an abnormal amount of landscape-altering action this NFL offseason, highlighted by the end of Tom Brady’s toe dip into retirement, along with the franchise changing trades that saw Russell Wilson head to Denver and Deshaun Watson land in Cleveland. In this article we’ll discuss how those transactions and a few others may impact certain players collectibles values in the NFL All Day ecosystem.

Russell Wilson

Moments to target: Debut Moment, Common Tier (Dec 5, 2021) and Legendary Tier (Jan 9, 2022)

The Russell Wilson era represents the peak of Seahawks NFL relevancy to date, with the title winning “Legion of Boom” team being the clear-cut best in franchise history. Assuming that Russ continues to play at a high level over the next several years in Denver, he’s very much on track to be a class headlining, first ballot Hall of Famer. If you’re buying and holding his Debut Moment long-term, that concept is the primary thesis behind that move.

The Legendary Tier Moment mentioned shows Russ torching rival Arizona on the way to an upset victory in his final game as a Seahawk. As an interesting bonus, the construction of this offering is a fine example of what a meaningful, Legendary Moment should be as it is a one minute and forty second highlight showing all four of Russ’s touchdowns in this contest. Adams is an elite route runner that has been extremely productive in recent years, but in his eight-year career he’s only had three great seasons and he’ll no longer benefit from Aaron Rodgers wizardry going forward. I mention this because I have my doubts that Adams ends up getting into the Hall of Fame, even though reuniting with his former college teammate Derek Carr gives Adams a realistic shot of continuing to be notably productive. With that said this long score against primary rival Chicago is a great example of the Rodgers to Adams connection, as Rodgers makes a high difficulty throw look routine with Adams effortlessly making Bears defenders miss before heading into the endzone to finish off the play. If Adams does make the Hall of Fame he will likely be thought of as a Green Bay Packer first, making his debut legendary more appealing.

CeeDee Lamb

Moment to Target: Debut Moment, Common Tier (Jan 8, 2022)

Amari Cooper’s trade to Cleveland makes Lamb the unquestioned alpha dog in the Cowboys passing attack heading into opening day. With Lamb we’re getting a potential third-year breakout candidate playing for the most recognizable brand in the sport in the Dallas Cowboys. I’m less enthusiastic about Dallas’s prospects for success than I was last offseason, but Lamb is in a very interesting position here.

Broncos Skill Position Players

Moments to target: Javonte Williams Rookie Debut Moment, Common Tier (Dec 12, 2021), Jerry Jeudy Debut Moment, Common Tier (Dec 5, 2021) and Courtland Sutton Debut Moment, Rare Tier (Jan 2, 2022)

The addition of Russell Wilson raises the ceiling for all Broncos skill position players. Williams spent his rookie campaign as part of a relatively even timeshare with veteran Melvin Gordon, but the former second-round pick looked promising. If Denver brings back Gordon or another notable veteran, I will likely buy the dip on Williams Debut Moments with the expectation that he becomes “the guy” in a high-quality offense next year. If Denver doesn’t sign Gordon or another notable veteran, I will try to grab a few of these Moments before any kind of price spike.

Jerry Jeudy is a former first-round pick out of Alabama heading into his third season. Jeudy missed multiple games last season with a high ankle sprain, and he’s suffered greatly from bottom-tier quarterback play in each of his first two seasons. His skillset is at least somewhat comparable to successful Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett, so I’m bullish on Jeudy heading into opening day. I’ve been buying him at a discount in the physical card world throughout the past six months. I would be just as bullish, if not more, on Courtland Sutton before his ACL tear that ended his 2020 season. As it is now, I’m a little concerned on Sutton as he didn’t quite look like himself last year. Sutton is a guy that I will be paying a lot of attention to in camp and throughout the preseason.

David Njoku

Moments to target: Debut Moment, Common Tier (Jan 3, 2022)

I have never understood Njoku’s usage in Cleveland and I was hoping that he’d end up with Justin Herbert in Los Angeles this offseason so that he could finally showcase his abilities. Instead, the Browns tagged Njoku and then traded for Deshaun Watson. While the off-field nightmares related to Watson are substantial, from a football standpoint Watson is an exponentially better quarterback than anyone Njoku has ever played with.

Situations I’m Monitoring

Rob Gronkowski

With Tom Brady back in the fold, it wouldn’t be shocking if Gronk returned to Tampa Bay. If that happens his Debut Moment will still hold considerable appeal as he’s one of the best tight ends in history, but said Moment will lose the added bonus of doubling as the last time Gronk catches a touchdown pass from Brady.

Bobby Wagner

If I had a Hall of Fame vote I would vote for Wagner the first year he was eligible. Wagner does not have an active Moment in the All Day ecosystem yet, but he is listed. When his Debut Moment arrives, it may also double as his last in a Seahawks uniform outside of archives releases which will make it especially valuable.

Von Miller

Miller has four Moments as a Ram, but he would go into the Hall of Fame as a Bronco and that’s where he was on opening day last season. Now that Miller has signed a multi-year deal with Buffalo, I’ll be interested in acquiring his first released Moment as a Bronco, as it could also be his last outside of archives releases.

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Smith-Schuster is listed on the NFL All Day platform, but he does not yet have an active Moment. I’ve never been a Smith-Schuster enthusiast, but any capable offensive player that lands with the Chiefs needs to be monitored.
