To celebrate 100 days until NFL Kickoff, we are ranking the Top 100 TOC cards for the 2022 Owners Club season.

This list will consider a card’s utility across all TOC contests (Main Event, Side Hustle, Lowball, Island of Misfit Cards). Jokers are excluded from the rankings.

We will update the list every day from today through NFL Kickoff on September 8th.

Without further ado…

New York (National) Running Backs: Kicking off our Top 100 is the New York running backs group, a volatile option that comes with intriguing potential. Saquon Barkley’s health and the overall volume for this otherwise thin running backs group are notable concerns. However, in a best-case scenario Barkley returns to form as one of the league’s most physically gifted runners and has a big year in New York’s new offense. If Saquon can’t shake the injury bug, this also becomes a great Lowball option.

Pittsburgh Quarterbacks: Whether it’s Mitch Trubisky or rookie Kenny Pickett under center for Pittsburgh, this card will give you access to the production from both quarterbacks. Considering that Pittsburgh has one of the more well-rounded skill position groups in football, Pittsburgh’s quarterbacks have value as a contrarian option with some spike game potential.

San Francisco Defense: San Francisco’s defense was right in the middle of the pack (16th) in Owners Club scoring last season. That said, this defense was notably better in the second half of the year, and it largely carried San Francisco to their NFC Championship appearance. The addition of cornerback Charvarius Ward can only help an already capable group.

Jacksonville Wide Receivers: The shift from the Urban Meyer catastrophe to the Doug Pederson era will provide the entire Jacksonville organization with more stability this season. On top of that, the additions of Christian Kirk and, to a lesser extent, Zay Jones, will give second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence better options this season. If the highly regarded Lawrence takes a leap, Jacksonville’s wide receivers will be in a strong position to exceed expectations this season.

Chicago Tight Ends: Tight end Cole Kmet could very realistically finish this season as one of Chicago’s top-two pass catchers. While this rebuilding offense could struggle throughout the year and the holes in their offensive line could result in Kmet being left in to block against certain opponents, the volume potential for Chicago’s tight ends is very appealing.

Carolina Wide Receivers: The Matt Rhule era in Carolina has underwhelmed to this point and few teams have more volatility at the quarterback position than this one. However, with the talented D.J. Moore as its headliner Carolina’s wide receiver group makes for a contrarian option with some spike game potential.

Pittsburgh Running Backs: Najee Harris is one of the few bell cow running backs in football and that makes him a premium option in traditional fantasy settings. However, The Owners Club counts the production of entire position groups, which makes collective volume much more coveted than an outstanding role for one player. That’s the primary reason why Pittsburgh running backs finished 28^th in Owners Club scoring at the position last season.

Seattle Running Backs: The departure of Russell Wilson reduces the ceiling of virtually every offensive option in Seattle this season. However, this organization appears very interested in being among the most run-heavy offenses in the sport and that could lead to significant volume for Seattle’s running backs group.

New York (National) Wide Receivers: If New York’s new head coach Brian Daboll mimics the offensive philosophies he deployed in Buffalo, we can reasonably expect New York to be among the most pass centric teams while deploying three or four wide receivers more often than just about anyone else. While New York’s wide receiver group lacks an obvious alpha and they’ll enter the season with one of the most volatile quarterback situations in the league, this wide receiver group has interesting potential in our format.

Los Angeles (National) Defense: You might not think that the title-winning Los Angeles defense headlined by the great Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey would have finished 14th in Owners Club scoring last season, but that’s what they did. Still, barring significant injuries this unit will be a rock-solid option with great potential for spike weeks, especially against weaker opponents.

Jacksonville Running Backs: In a best case scenario, James Robinson returns with no limitations from his season-ending achilles injury while Travis Etienne comes back from the foot injury that cost him his rookie campaign to provide this backfield with the big play making abilities he showcased at Clemson. In a worst case scenario, last year’s second lowest scoring running backs group continues to be a consistently viable Lowball option as they were last season.

New York (National) Quarterbacks: This is a make or break year for Daniel Jones in New York. On the positive side this will be the best offensive line Jones has ever played behind and Brian Daboll’s pass-centric offense will create opportunities for Jones to exceed expectations this season. On the downside, Jones has been one of the least effective starting quarterbacks in the league since he was selected sixth overall back in 2019.

New Orleans Defense: New Orleans’ defense came in at a rock solid 7th in Owners Club scoring among defenses last year. While that’s certainly nice, drawing the volatile offenses of Atlanta, Carolina, and Seattle within their first five games gives New Orleans three excellent opportunities to be the top scoring defense early in the season.

Los Angeles (National) Running Backs: The transition from recently retired, borderline Hall of Fame left tackle Andrew Whitworth to Joe Noteboom could very well be a negative for the Los Angeles running game. We also can’t be entirely sure what we’ll get out of Cam Akers who returned remarkably early from an achilles injury for Los Angeles’s Super Bowl run last season. With that said, if Akers can return to his pre-injury form he’ll pair with proven veteran Darrell Henderson to form a quality backfield, in one of football’s best offenses.

San Francisco Running Backs: Be it under the watch of Kyle or his father Mike, the Shannahan family has a long history of getting notable production out of a variety of running backs throughout their coaching careers. One of the most difficult puzzles to solve in traditional season long or best ball formats this season is the pecking order in San Francisco’s backfield. That isn’t an issue in our format, as we’ll get the production of any running back that sees playing time in San Francisco this season.

Dallas Defense: Few would have predicted that Dallas would have finished as the top scoring defense in The Owners’ Club last season. While this group still has plenty of potential, difference making pass rusher Randy Gregory is now in Denver and we can reasonably expect at least a little regression from this group.

New England Defense: New England was the second scoring defense in The Owners Club last season, and we can continue to rely on mastermind Bill Belichick giving this unit a strategic edge against virtually every opponent. That said, New England has undergone some roster turnover this offseason while both their division rivals and the AFC as a whole have improved.

Buffalo Running Backs: Buffalo’s offense in the Josh Allen era has been earmarked by MVP-caliber quarterback play and a voluminous passing attack. Allen has also had 31 rushing touchdowns over his first four seasons, which collectively means that Buffalo’s running backs group often sees less than ideal volume these days. That said, this group finished 23rd in Owners Club scoring at the position while breaching 25 points on 3 separate occasions. That makes this an option with proven spike week potential that also gives you a share of one of football’s best offenses.

Tennessee Quarterbacks: Coming in as the 21st overall scorer at the position last season, Ryan Tannehill has been much better than just about anyone would have expected since joining Tennessee in 2019. Losing A.J. Brown to Philadelphia is a considerable negative for this passing attack, but adding Treylon Burks in the first round and veteran Robert Woods via trade should help mitigate that loss. With the AFC now loaded with exceptional quarterbacks, it’s very possible that Tennessee will have to be more aggressive on offense to keep pace with some of the higher end opponents that they’ll face this season.

Las Vegas Running Backs: A quintessential Owners Club card where the production of a whole position group counts more than any individual. Headliner Josh Jacobs should be highly motivated in a contract year; Kenyan Drake has been productive in several different offenses while being a valuable asset in the passing game; and the addition of Georgia’s Zamir White in this year’s draft could result in this group having three runners with considerable collective volume in this offense.

New England Wide Receivers: The 16th scorer at the position last season, New England wide receivers have added talented veteran DeVante Parker to the mix this offseason. If second-year quarterback Mac Jones improves on his rock-solid rookie campaign of a season ago, and New England doesn’t find themselves involved in a severe wind game where they only throw 3 passes in a single contest, there is a very realistic path to this group beating last year’s 16th overall finish at the position.

Detroit Quarterbacks: Suddenly Detroit has a pretty complete skill group to go with their already strong offensive line. A better supporting cast gives Detroit’s veteran signal caller, Jared Goff, a considerably higher ceiling this year than he had entering opening day last season.

New York (American) Quarterbacks: Zach Wilson missed several games due to injury and generally struggled throughout his rookie campaign. However, New York has improved their offensive line and each of their skill position groups this offseason with at least one notable addition. Their early schedule is pretty brutal, but this young and talented offense has considerable potential, especially if Wilson can take any kind of leap in his second year.

Philadelphia Defense: Philadelphia’s defense has been built around a disruptive front for a generation and the addition of cornerback James Bradberry fills a big hole in the secondary. Factor in that Philadelphia has one of the easiest schedules in the league, and their defense is well positioned to be a factor this TOC season.

Washington Wide Receivers: Terry McLaurin, Chris Samuels, and first round pick Jahan Dotson collectively make this a talented wide receiver group that has a realistic path to exceeding expectations. While we can reasonably expect new quarterback Carson Wentz to be an upgrade at the position for Washington, this is still one of the most volatile quarterback rooms in the sport. Consider this talented wide receiver group a boom or bust option.

New England Quarterbacks: New England has gone through some roster turnover this offseason and there are still some questions surrounding the structure of their offensive coaching staff, which collectively brings some uncertainty to the table. However, Mac Jones is coming off one of the better rookie quarterback seasons in history and while New England’s skill groups lack a true headliner, the addition of DeVante Parker can be nothing but a positive

Baltimore Wide Receivers: The departure of Hollywood Brown kind of crushes the ceiling for this unit, as Baltimore not only lost a burner but the whole wide receiver group is much thinner without Brown. That said, Rashod Bateman is well positioned to be a difference maker this year and at the end of the day we are getting a share of Lamar Jackson’s offense. We can expect Baltimore to be involved in several high scoring affairs and that gives their wide receivers group spike game potential.

Kansas City Running Backs: This group was a middle of the pack finisher in Owners Club scoring last year (16th), and ultimately the biggest benefit in landing this card is you’ll get a share of one of the league’s best offenses. One of the biggest questions I have going into this season is will the departure of Tyreek Hill lead to increased usage of Andy Reid’s masterful screen game? If Kansas City running backs see a jump in passing game usage, this option could easily beat their 16th place finish from last season.

Philadelphia Tight Ends: This is an interesting option as Philadelphia tight ends finished 10th in Owners Club scoring last season and Dallas Goedert is widely viewed as a top-10 type of talent at the position. Ultimately, one of the big questions in fantasy this season is does Jalen Hurts improve enough as a passer for Philadelphia’s passing volume to significantly increase? If he does, the Philadelphia tight ends card could exceed current expectations. If Hurts doesn’t improve as a passer, the acquisition of A.J. Brown means there are suddenly a lot of mouths to feed in this offense.

New York (American) Running Backs: We don’t have to worry about the workload split between Michael Carter and the newly acquired Breece Hall in the Owners Club. In fact, we want both players to see significant playing time as that will lead to greater collective volume for the group. To this point in our Top 100 countdown, this is the card that I think has the best chance of massively exceeding expectations.

Indianapolis Defense: This has been a good unit for several years now, and with two games against both Jacksonville and Houston along with matchups against the volatile quarterbacks of Washington, Pittsburgh, and New York (National) this defense has a number of opportunities for a spike weak against a volatile opponent.

New England Tight Ends: While Jonnu Smith greatly disappointed this year, Hunter Henry was rock solid in his first season in New England. Henry gives this group a solid floor, while the prospect of the athletic and well paid tight end Smith brings the added potential of second relevant tight end potentially emerging in this offense.

Detroit Wide Receivers: On opening day last season, you could argue that Detroit did not field an NFL-caliber wide receiver group. When everyone is healthy this year, late-season breakout rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown will be joined by perimeter burner D.J. Chark and rookie Jameson Williams, who is talented and explosive enough to have been taken with the 12th overall pick despite suffering a major knee injury that will likely cost him multiple games in his rookie campaign.

Indianapolis Quarterbacks: The addition of Matt Ryan gives Indianapolis far more stability at the quarterback position than they had last year with Wentz. In a best case scenario, Ryan has a late-career resurgence with a new team similar to Carson Palmer in Arizona. In a worst case scenario, 37-year-old Ryan continues to decline as he inches closer to his eventual retirement.

Indianapolis Wide Receivers: In traditional fantasy formats Michael Pittman is currently a rock solid option with some breakout potential that is consistently drafted before the end of the third round. If Parris Campbell or rookie Alec Pierce can emerge as a significant compliment to Pittman this season, this group could exceed current expectations.

New Orleans Running Backs: This group’s season-long viability primarily hinges on how long Alvin Kamara ends up getting suspended for. If said suspension gets near the rumored amount of 6-games, this card could be an interesting buy-low option early in the season.

Washington Running Backs: One of the more challenging backfields to diagnose in traditional fantasy formats as three different runners could end up seeing notable playing time. Those situations are often more desirable in our format, as we will get the production from every Washington running back with this card.

New Orleans Quarterbacks: The departure of New Orleans head coach Sean Payton will be a significant loss for this offense, especially for quarterback Jameis Winston, who is coming off a season-ending knee injury. In Tampa Bay, Winston was very inconsistent, but he also showed that he’s capable of putting up big numbers in the air. If Michael Thomas can return to form, Winston has a much, much better wide receiver group this year than he did last season.

Seattle Wide Receivers: D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett make up one of the stronger wide receiver duos in football. However, Seattle is expected to be one of the more run heavy teams in the league with one of the more volatile quarterback rooms in the league, with Seattle still searching for an upgrade over Geno Smith or Drew Lock.

Carolina Running Backs: When healthy, Christian McCaffrey is among the most valuable fantasy options in traditional fantasy formats. In the Owners Club, collective volume is very desirable for a running back group. One of the things that I’ll keep an eye out for this summer is if Carolina intends to take some of the load off McCaffrey via D’Onta Foreman and/ or Chubba Hubbard.

Cleveland Quarterbacks: Morality predicaments aside, in any game that Deshaun Watson suits up for this season this card is a Top-12 option at the quarterback position with slate breaking upside. For every game that Jacoby Brissett plays, this option becomes a Top-5 option in our Lowball contest.

New York (American) Wide Receivers: Suddenly New York has one of the more talented wide receiver trios in the league with explosive second-year talent Elijah Moore, former fifth overall pick Corey Davis, and this year’s tenth overall pick Garrett Wilson. This group even has a notable fourth option, with the shifty Braxton Berrios. If second-year quarterback Zach Wilson can be more consistent this season, this card has a very realistic path to exceeding expectations in The Owners Club.

Pittsburgh Wide Receivers: Pittsburgh wide receivers were 15th in Owners Club scoring at the position last season and they’ve been a steadily productive group for most of this century. The transition from future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger to journeyman Mitch Trubisky and (eventually) first round pick Kenny Pickett creates some level of uncertainty for this offense. However, this is still a young and talented wide receiver group with some upside.

New Orleans Wide Receivers: If Michael Thomas is able to return from his abnormally lengthy hiatus with an ankle injury, the additions of rock solid veteran Jarvis Landry and eleventh overall pick Chris Olave give New Orleans a very strong trio at wide receiver with considerable upside. If Thomas cannot return or simply isn’t the same player that he was before his 2020 ankle injury, this group still has potential with a number of appealing matchups on the schedule.

Chicago Quarterbacks: The present state of Chicago’s offensive line is genuinely concerning and you could argue that this team’s wide receiver group is the thinnest in the league, so we should be treating the Chicago quarterbacks card as a volatile option. That said, Justin Fields is a dual-threat quarterback that improved as his rookie campaign went on last season. There’s potential here for some big box scores if Fields is forced to put this offense on his back.

Jacksonville Quarterbacks: With the Urban Meyer debacle now in the rearview mirror, things can only get better for Trevor Lawrence from here. While Jacksonville’s offensive roster is still average in many areas, Lawrence was a historically relevant, dual-threat quarterback prospect entering last year’s draft and he’ll benefit from a far more stable football operation this season.

Green Bay Defense: Between Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, professional football in Green Bay has been headlined by Hall of Fame quarterback play for nearly 30 years. That said, Green Bay has been gradually building a young, talented defense to compliment Rodgers over the last several years. With the additions of first round picks Quay Walker (LB) and Devonte Wyatt (DL), Green Bay is on my short list of teams that could finish the season with the league’s best defense.

Detroit Tight Ends: A disappointing 20th in Owners Club scoring last season, Detroit’s tight ends group came away with three double-digit spike weeks, but they were an otherwise inconsistent option. There are more mouths to feed in Detroit’s improved offense this season, but T.J. Hockenson is still among the better tight ends in the league and that alone gives this card greater than average spike week potential at the position.

Arizona Running Backs: With Chase Edmonds now in Miami and the very real possibility that James Conner sees some touchdown regression after scoring 18 times last season, I’m a bit bearish on the Arizona running backs group despite their 9th place finish at the position in our format last season. While this card gives you a share in Kyler Murray’s explosive offense, a lot of things have to go right for this running backs group to match last year’s production. I’m betting on this group being a more middle of the pack option this season.

Buffalo Defense: Buffalo was the third highest scoring defense in our format last season, and we can reasonably expect them to be among the more appealing defensive options once again this season. Buffalo starts the season with a pretty tough schedule, where it wouldn’t be a surprise if they underwhelmed through the first half. If that happens, I could see myself buying a few of these cards on the marketplace come October as the second half schedule softens for Buffalo and ultimately, this team is a genuine contender that is capable of blowing out subpar opponents. Those are conditions I’m looking for in a fantasy defense.

San Francisco Quarterbacks: Trey Lance’s ability to develop into a true franchise quarterback is one of the league’s great unknowns heading into opening day. In a best case scenario, Lance takes advantage of his exceptional situation on his way to a top-ten type of fantasy finish. In a worst case scenario, Lance is inconsistent throughout the season and thus a volatile fantasy option. That volatility, paired with the scoring in our format that favors elite passers more than runners is why this option is listed lower than you might have expected.

Philadelphia Running Backs: If quarterback Jalen Hurts improves as a passer this season, we can reasonably expect Philadelphia’s rushing volume to decrease. That said, Philadelphia has a strong offensive line and multiple running backs will see notable action this year, which is a positive in our format. Additionally, Philadelphia has one of the league’s easiest schedules, which means they could be playing ahead often and running the ball more in certain matchups.

Minnesota Running Backs: Dalvin Cook is one of the premiere running back talents in football, but Minnesota runners were a middle-of-the-pack 17th in Owners Club scoring last year. Running back groups that see significant collective volume tend to outperform those primarily driven by one player in our format. With the coaching change in Minnesota, we can reasonably expect the offense to be better and more pass-heavy, which could negatively impact overall volume for this group. That said, if you land this card it’s still among the more talent-heavy options at the position.

Miami Quarterbacks: Finishing 18th in Owners Club scoring, Miami quarterbacks were an average option last season. Heading into this season, Miami’s new offensive-minded coaching staff, improved offensive line, and the addition of arguably the most dangerous wide receiver in the league (Tyreek Hill) gives this card a much higher ceiling.

Philadelphia Wide Receivers: The addition of A.J. Brown makes this a much more dangerous group with a lot of fantasy potential. Ultimately, the value of this card will boil down to how well quarterback Jalen Hurts plays, but the ceiling is much higher this year than it was last season.

Minnesota Quarterbacks: This is an interesting option as the considerable talent in this passing attack will be pushed by the new, more aggressive coaching staff in Minnesota. More passing volume for this offense lays a very clear path for this group to beat its 13th score at the position last season.

San Francisco Wide Receivers: Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk make for a very capable wide receiver duo, and both young players have pumped out significant production, especially Deebo last year. How pass happy San Francisco’s offense will be as it enters the Trey Lance era is the primary reason this option isn’t closer to the top of this list, but it could certainly end up as one of the top performers at the position.

Baltimore Running Backs: Baltimore was absolutely ravaged by injuries last season, especially at running back. Injury uncertainty is still a concern for this group as J.K. Dobbins is currently on PUP and Gus Edwards is in danger of missing the first few weeks of the season. If Mike Davis ends up headlining the unit to start the season, they could easily fall towards the back of this list. However, volume is the name of the game and Baltimore running backs have seen more of it than most groups during the Lamar Jackson era. If J.K. Dobbins is ready to go when the season starts, we are looking at considerable volume for the group with a high-end athlete like Dobbins as the headliner.

Las Vegas Wide Receivers: Davante Adams was added to a Vegas wide receivers group that finished 14th at the position in Owners Club scoring last season. Factor in the numerous potential shootout spots on Las Vegas’s schedule, and you have an option with a very solid foundation and significant potential for spike weeks.

Dallas Tight Ends: This group finished sixth in scoring at the position last season, and Dalton Schultz is currently the standalone second option in Dallas’s passing attack given their injuries at wide receiver. The tight end position is among the most volatile week to week in fantasy; this is one of the few options where the floor won’t kill you in most weeks while still having a consistent chance to be a top-five scorer amongst tight ends.

Dallas Quarterbacks: Dak Prescott has been a premium fantasy asset in two of the last three seasons (Dak missed most of 2020 due to a gruesome ankle injury). I’m lower than consensus on Dak because Dallas lost significant talent in the offseason, namely Amari Cooper. Plus, both Michael Gallup and newly acquired veteran James Washington will miss considerable time to start the season.

Dallas Wide Receivers: I’m fairly high on CeeDee Lamb in traditional fantasy settings, and I still expect the Dallas offense to be “fine.” That said, the Amari Cooper trade and Gallup and Washington injuries mean this group is significantly worse than it was last season, plain and simple.

Green Bay Wide Receivers: The loss of Davante Adams is a major blow to Green Bay’s offense and the departure of role player Marquez Valdes-Scantling isn’t a positive. That said, as long as four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers is still at the controls in Green Bay, their wide receiver group has spike week potential, especially if rookies Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson add meaningful contributions .

San Francisco Tight Ends: You could argue that George Kittle is the most well rounded tight end in football. You could even argue that he’s the most talented player at the position, which is exactly why this card has slate breaking potential. That said, passing volume is the week-to-week concern here.

Detroit Running Backs: When D’Andre Swift was healthy last year, the Detroit running backs card was one of the better performers at the position. Swift is a factor as a runner and a pass catcher, while primary reserve Jamaal Williams is a rock solid complement in this backfield. Factor in Detroit’s high-quality offensive line, and the Detroit running backs card is an already strong option that isn’t drawing dead at ultimately being one of the very best at the position.

Philadelphia Quarterbacks: Jalen Hurts is a running quarterback, which makes him a more valuable option in traditional fantasy settings than in our format. That said, the addition of A.J. Brown gives Philadelphia one of the better groups of pass catchers in the league. If Hurts can take a step forward as a passer, he’ll be near the top options in traditional fantasy settings and within striking distance of that group in ours.

Kansas City Wide Receivers: Tyreek Hill is gone, which reduces the slate breaking value of this option. With that said, you could argue that Kansas City now has a more well-rounded group of wide receivers and ultimately you’re getting a major component of a Patrick Mahomes offense here.

Los Angeles (American) Running Backs: This option gives you a share of one of the best offenses in football. Austin Ekeler is a factor in the passing game, while multiple running backs will drive the collective volume of this group upward. The one concern that I have is Ekeler had 20 total touchdowns last year, and that figure will likely regress.

Las Vegas Tight Ends: Darren Waller is among the most dynamic athletes at the tight end position, which often makes him the focus of enemy defensive coordinators. The addition of Davante Adams is going to change that for Waller. More one-on-one matchups in Derek Carr’s offense could end up in Waller’s best season to date if he’s able to stay healthy this year.

Las Vegas Quarterbacks: One of my stronger stances in fantasy this season is that I’d rather have Derek Carr than Dak Prescott, at least for this year. The addition of Davante Adams, a healthy Darren Waller, a rock solid third option in Hunter Renfrow, and a schedule littered with potential shootouts makes Carr a legitimate contender to lead the league in passing yards. Traditional pocket passers are better balanced in our format versus the dual-threat options that dominate in traditional fantasy settings. If Carr ended up finishing as a top-five option in the Owners Club this season, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

Arizona Wide Receivers: The six-game suspension of Deandre Hopkins and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown’s recent arrest make this highly desirable group more volatile. However, when at full strength the card is very much in play as a top-five option at the wide receiver position.

Denver Running Backs: A nearly even split between Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon would be a relative nightmare in traditional fantasy. In our format, it would almost be welcomed, as we’ll get strong collective volume from two good players in what could easily be a top-ten offense.

Cincinnati Running Backs: On the positive side, this group was eighth in Owners Club scoring at the position last season and their offensive line was significantly improved this offseason. The downside is Cincinnati has an ascending young QB and WR core that could very realistically become the most dangerous passing offense in the league if this coaching staff starts stepping on the gas.

New England Running Backs: This group finished third in Owners Club scoring at the position last season, and I have them sliding to sixth this season. The combination of Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson should be a good duo for physical New England.
